Class Five Missed: Visiting Lecturer March 7, 2024
I missed class five as I was in China. I experienced a career highlight when more than 130 second and third year nursing students showed up to hear me speak about the history of Canadian nursing and nursing education; the types regulated nurses we have in Canada; what a career in nursing can look like using my diverse career as a nurse in Canada over 30+ years as an example. This happened at Shantou University Medical College in Shantou, China.
I felt so privileged to speak to these students about how awesome nursing can be as a profession. There were student leaders in that group asking excellent questions that left me excited for the future of the nursing profession in China. These were keen students ready to work to make to world a healthier place.
